Les Petits Meurtres d’Agatha Christie has been awarded the prestigious title of “Best 2016 French Series” by TV Mag, the largest television magazine in France with a readership of 18 million.

The series, produced by Escazal Films, comprises 90 minute episodes that adapt plots from Agatha Christie’s stories, but feature their own unique set of characters: Superintendent Laurence (Samuel Labarthe), obnoxious and macho yet completely irresistible, young journalist Alice Avril (Blandine Bellavoir), a committed feminist always on the look out for her next story, and Laurence’s faithful secretary Marlène (Elodie Frenck). Set in the colourful 1950s and 60s, its mix of glamour and humour straddles the comedy and crime genres.

According to actor Samuel Labarthe, the secret of its success lies in the timeless stories of Agatha Christie.
